瑞士設計團隊NORM在2011年的一次義大利之旅中，在二手書店裡的一本雜誌中發現了一封平淡無奇的信封，裡面有4個塑膠袋、14張35釐米的彩色負片與1張出自打字機的便條，「親愛的Giancarlo⋯請你相信全公司都對這次無庸置疑的好作品非常喜愛與感謝⋯⋯」，在種種的跡象看來，是為一間最終卻未公開與上市、名為Italcore的企業所製作的形象識別提案。而提案中製作精良的訂製字體引起了NORM的興趣，經過數年的嘗試與研究後正式發行以此為基礎的數位字型，並將這段尋向空缺的冒險收錄在出版的字樣之中。

Lineto是瑞士最具代表性的當代字體公司之一，1993年由平面設計師Cornel Windlin與字體設計師Stephan Müller創立，起初是為了發表他們個別的字體設計實驗，而很快地在五年後便以此為契機，發展為瑞士第一間將字體數位化並提供線上販售的字廠。除了核心成員外，Lineto也集結了如Norm（Dimitri Bruni和Manuel Krebs）、Laurenz Brunner、Aurèle Sack等設計師的作品，並逐漸擴張成一個由跨世代與跨地域設計師組成的開放式平台。

Lineto關注字體在當代表達中作為語言、系統與視覺風格的複雜角色，有著時而機能主義、時而帶有歷史性與實驗性之間的張力，不僅在造型結構上有著精準又大膽的取捨與同樣傳達出的感受，使之作為應用時不僅在如Spotify、Google、Nike、MoMA與Tate等跨國性品牌與文化機構受歡迎，也被許多獨立工作室在如編排設計等廣泛情境下使用；而另一方面在脈絡上也以嚴謹且獨特的視角回應著字體史，體現出字體設計作為文化實踐的一種可能。

除了提供數位字體的販售外，Lineto也不定期為適合與紙本對話的字體企劃出版，內容比起純粹實用性的實體樣本，更是一部部關於字體設計、視覺文化與設計歷史的視覺與理論檔案，透過各種形式探索著字體的深度、廣度與厚度。

Applying a systematic approach to their design that remains unchanged, NORM crafts typefaces as proprietary tools to supplement their body of work. They shape their tools, which, in turn, shape their work.

Developed during five years of methodical application and continuously improved through a relentless practice of trial and error across numerous projects, LL Riforma is now a family of five weights, ranging from light, regular, medium and bold to heavy, including italic cuts.

All weights offer a rich repertoire of OpenType features: number sets, case-sensitive forms, ligatures, symbols, arrows, as well as an abundance of stylistic alternates. Most distinctive are the angular cuts to the terminals of some letters – to be found in stylistic set 1.

The full font family was manually hinted for optimal representation across all platforms and screens. A cyrillic version is currently in development.
