Description

SHOUT is a special issue series published by Voices of Photography with no stylistic limitations. This issue contains three image compilations by Su Misu, Lin Chien-Wen and Wu Mei-Chi, depicting the binding, layering and weaving of images and the objects in them...

Born in 1990, Su Misu is engaged in photography and performance art, and has long been involved in the exploration of the BDSM and LGBTQ+ genres. Inspired by the “Synthetic” and “Unnatural”, she has published a photobook, ihategoodbye (2016) and held the “Su Misu solo-exhibition: I am a fake but my heart is true, Part II” in 2019 at the Chi-Wen Gallery in Taipei. Su Misu is currently based in Taipei, Taiwan.

Born in Tainan, Taiwan in 1989, Wu Mei-Chi currently is the art director of NEPO Gallery, where she curates exhibitions and acts as the editor and designer of the gallery’s photography publications. She has held several solo exhibitions, such as “XXY-The Space of Things” at NEPO Gallery in Taipei in 2016, and “XYX-A Moveable Feast” at Aura Gallery Taipei in 2017. She has also participated in several international joint exhibitions.

Lin Chien-Wen was born in Taipei, Taiwan in 1987. He earned his Master of Professional Studies degree from the School of Visual Art Fashion Photography Department, New York, U.S.A. in 2015. Lin often uses collages to juxtapose and restructure the people, scenery and materials he observes in his daily life. Utilizing images from different times and spaces to form (reconstruct) new facts, he tries to challenge, or prove, the concept of whether images are as “intuitive” as we have always imagined them to be.
