自 2014 年起，Hans Gremmen 開始在街頭撿拾被遺棄的撲克牌，希望有朝一日能拼湊出一整副牌。他為此訂下兩條簡單規則：第一，只能撿單張的牌；第二，若同一副牌有多張可撿，則只取第一眼看到的那一張，以及小丑牌（若有）。至今，他已在威尼斯、阿姆斯特丹、巴黎、倫敦、紐約、拉斯維加斯等地的散步途中撿到這些牌。
《The Incomplete Deck》是一本關於這項迷戀的小誌（zine），其中亦簡要回顧了撲克牌設計的歷史。同時，它也是《In Between: An Incomplete Index (2001–2026)》中第 77 頁與第 147–150 頁的補遺。每一本書都隨機附上一張撲克牌。
